Lorz Motorsports continues to persevere through the 2008 season
By Lorz Motorsports / M.P.H. Promotions
Midlothian, Illinois (Thursday, June 5, 2008): If there's one thing Lorz
Motorsports does well is that they continue to strive and continue to
push forward despite any trials and tribulations that occur.
Lorz drivers, Troy Hintzsche and Josh Lane made the trip to Toledo
Speedway in Toledo, Ohio for the rescheduled Glass Breaker 125 on June
1, 2008 as this event was originally scheduled for April 12th, but
Mother Nature had other ideas, thus the make-up date which turned out to
be a beautiful and bright sunny day on a Sunday afternoon.
Hintzsche showed that all the hard work is starting to pay off as the
Malta, Illinois driver qualified an impressive third quick out of 32
cars and after the inversion, would start on the outside of the fourth
row.
Lane's journey hit a small bump as he qualified 24th and for the third
race in a row, had to run the GM Performance Parts Shootout. He finished
seventh in the 25-lap "B Main" but then immediately after the Shootout.
ASALMS Co-Founder / Presidents, Ron and Sandy Varney elected to start
all 32 cars after all! So Lane would start 31st.
In the 125-lap feature, Hintzsche stayed out of trouble and posted a
solid Eighth place finish while Lane survived an accident from the
Shootout to finish 21st in the star studded field at the Toledo, Ohio
speed plant.
"We're trying to get Lorz Motorsports back on track after a horrible
month of May for us." Explained Lorz Motorsports Car Owner, Mike Lorz.
"Troy had a great qualifying run and it was good to see him finish in
the Top 10. We need to get to LaCrosse and hopefully have the same kind
of luck there with the #76."
"The whole team is getting better and better and they never give up!
We're starting to work together very well, it takes time though and we
knew that going in." Continued Lorz. "As the season goes on, Josh will
gain more experience and more confidence and the results will be there!"
Now the team looks ahead to the third straight race in three weekends
for the ASALMS Northern Division at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in
West Salem, Wisconsin this Saturday, June 7, 2008 for the River Run 100.
After LaCrosse, Lorz's third driver, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario / Canada
driver, 18-year-old (On June 7th) Jordan Sims will make his ASALMS debut
in the 2nd annual Tradition 200, an ASALMS Challenge Division race at
Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on Friday and Saturday, June 13-14,
2008.
