The Lorz team is proud to announce that Troy has broken into the top ten in points in the ASA Late Model Series. Josh can easily follow behind with a couple more good runs and finishes. The Lorz crew continues to have hope that both drivers will be in top 10 in points this season-possibly a top 5. Josh has completed the last four races, at I-70 he finished 8th. Troy finished 16th and completed 149 laps of the 150 lap race.
The ‘Double Header’ weekend, which was Madison Speedway on Friday and Rockford Speedway on Saturday, both drivers made it through the weekend without any major damages to their cars. What a relief! Both Josh and Troy did over come some minor car troubles at the beginning, but both of them finished the race in one piece.
Troy finished the Madison race in 13th and Josh finished the race in 18th. The Lorz team was very thankful that there were no major concerns to either race car before heading into the Rockford race the next day. The morning of the Madison race both cars needed to be adjusted to the race track, but it seemed that Josh’s car needed more adjustments. When Troy qualified 8th fastest and Josh qualified 19th fastest, the Lorz team was satisfied that both drivers were in the race and the GMPP Shootout was not an option!
Rockford Speedway is a high banked 1/4 mile paved oval and can create havoc on someone’s race car if they not paying attention while driving. The cars are usually packed together and it becomes a tight close race! Both Josh and Troy did very well. Troy was able to keep the car in the top 10 the entire race, while Josh (running about 14th) pretty much stayed out of trouble until lap 95, when he got a flat tire. He came into the pits to get the tire changed and by the time he got out he finished the race in 18th.
