Midlothian, Illinois (Thursday, August 14, 2008): Lorz Motorsports
teammates, Troy Hintzsche and Josh Lane have shown all season long
that they compete with the best that the ASA Late Model Series
Northern Division has to offer.
Both drivers expect more of the same this weekend as the seventh race
of the 2008 racing season in the ASALMS Northern Division is the
Mid-Michigan Dixie Land Challenge 100 Presented by Turn One High
Performance Steering on Friday, August 15, 2008 at Dixie Motor Speedway.
The Birch Run, Michigan oval is the site of Hintzsche's one career
Fast Qualifier Award as the Malta, Illinois driver holds down the
ASALMS Track Record on the 4/10s mile progressively banked paved oval
with a 15.487. That equals out to an impressive 103.669 MPH. As for
Lane, this will be his first ever appearance at the Eastern Michigan
oval,
"We're looking forward to going to Dixie this weekend, they have a
nice little track there in Michigan," Stated Lorz Motorsports Car
Owner, Mike Lorz. "We had some bad luck there last year, so we hope to
have good luck on our side this time around.
Lorz is very optimistic about his drivers' chances in the series lone
appearance in its home state. "I think Troy should do real well there,
he established the ASALMS track record last year and we hope he can
Break that this time."
I'm really excited to get back behind the wheel of the #76 Lorz
Motorsports, Winfield Solutions, and DeKalb Seed Ford Fusion.
Especially after the last few races and setting the track record at
Dixie last year. The car is getting better and better each race and it
shows. We were moving forward the entire race at Madison and qualified
and ran well at Rockford. The car is staying much more consistent. I
have to thank the whole Lorz Motorsports crew for all they're hard work
and dedication. The next three weeks are going to be very important and
I am really excited carrying some momentum going in!
Heading into the Mid-Michigan Dixie Land Challenge 100, Hintzsche is
eighth in the ASALMS Northern Division Points Standings but only 11
markers out of the Top Five. Lane sits 14th overall and is sixth in
the fight for the 2008 Rookie of the Year title.
In his drivers' last events, the Border Wars Weekend at Madison
International Speedway on July 25th and Rockford Speedway on July
26th, Hintzsche finished Fifth and 13th respectively while Josh was
19th and 18th at the same two facilities.
"The Northern Division is very competitive this year, every finish
counts," Lorz explained. "Josh is continuing to improve every time
out. At Rockford he cut down a tire with 10 laps to go, otherwise he
would've have had a better finish."
"He's doing a heck of job for only running in about 10 ASALMS races in
his career. This is very tough series and he's learning a lot by
racing with the best."
The Dixie race begins a stretch of three races in three weekends for
the ASALMS Northern Division contingent. After Dixie, the teams head
to the Milwaukee Mile for the Governors Cup Weekend. After Milwaukee,
they celebrate the Labor Day Holiday Weekend with the 2nd annual Bob
Milner Memorial 100 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
"This is going to a rough three weeks in a row," Laughed Lorz. "Three
totally different race tracks on three consecutive weekends in three
different states wow!" He ended.
For the 2008 racing season, Hintzsche is steering his #76 Lorz
Motorsports Ford Fusion with sponsorship from: Winfield Solutions as
well as DeKalb Seed, International Truck and Engine Corporation, BASF
Chemical Corporation, Rooster Reality, Bell Racing, M.P.H. Promotions,
and Lorz Motorsports.
As for Lane, he is driving the familiar #54 Lorz Motorsports Ford
Fusion carrying sponsorship from; Racers Against Hunger as well as
Complete Automotive Solutions, Performance Enterprises, Red Line
Synthetic Oil, Kdubya.com, M.P.H. Promotions, and Lorz Motorsports.
